Second Skin

Second Skin is video documentation of a sculpture-video installation at the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center, Brattleboro, VT, in 2006 and Albuquerque Museum, as part of Sensory Crossovers, 2010
The installation consists of dozens of white hands made from various materials, suspended by monofilament within a steel frame. At the core of the sculpture is an invisible body being touched and formed by all the hands. Videos of hands in motion--those of a baker, cellist, potter, sign language interpreter--are projected onto the sculpture from two sides and above.
Video made by Beth Fairservis and edited by Fairservis, Saliq Savage, and Joann Trellu
Video documentation filmed and edited by Dan Keller
