Cistern, Chesterwood, 2015

The installation at Chesterwood, summer home and studio of sculptor Daniel Chester French in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, brings  an old cistern back to life, revealing the passage of time as the sun moves and forest detritus drifts in. The installation celebrates the nature of water and its seemingly endless capacity to absorb our waste and our sorrows.
